- Use Better Judgement
- Apply common sense during gameplay, and follow the server’s Discord rules even while in-game.
- Do not attempt to exploit loopholes or manipulate unclear rules for personal gain.
- Follow Profiles and Maintain Realism!
- Disregarding profile details is a rule violation.
- Territorial creatures must claim and maintain territory within their preferred biomes. Hunting outside territory is still allowed when low on hunger.
- Respect group limits. Adoption is only allowed when explicitly stated in the Guidelines.
- Creatures below sub-adult are not restricted by group limits unless otherwise noted in their profile.
- Creatures Adolescent and older may not remain in disliked biomes for more than 15 minutes unless actively engaged, defending a claimed body, or following another creature as defined by their profile.
- If there is any contradiction between rules or documents, follow this order of priority: Profile Information > Bodies Down/Guidelines > Resources > Rules
- Upon death, a creature’s lore and relationships are considered void. [Permadeath]
- Unrealistic or immersion-breaking behaviour is punishable. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Spam-crouching or t-bagging.
- Repeated or unrealistic call spam.
- Taunting or harassing players hindered by timers, schedules, or mobility.
- Staying in territory after losing or forfeiting a challenge, especially after multiple threat displays or warnings.
- Exploits and Unfair Tactics Are Prohibited
- Metagaming is not allowed! This includes using out-of-character or out-of-game information to gain an in-game advantage (e.g., stream-sniping, informants, location scouting via Discord or in-game).
- Taking meat chunks to intentionally speed up body despawning is forbidden.
- Logging onto a different creature and returning to the same area within 20 minutes to re-engage or challenge another player is not allowed. [Revenge killing]
- Do not kill players stuck in terrain who are unable to escape.
- Do not use terrain to unrealistically mesh your model or bite through objects.
- Changing subspecies unrealistically to gain an advantage before a fight is prohibited and will set you back to juvenile.
- Exploiting known game bugs for an advantage is not permitted.
- Do not use healing water (e.g., Hunter’s Thicket/Hot Springs) or eat mushrooms to heal during combat.

- Global Chat may only be used for:
- Asking for or providing in-game names.
- Announcing a body is down during an engagement. (e.g., “body down carnos”) when necessary
- Declaring challenges against players if intent is not understood (e.g., “territory challenge (camptos/latens)”)
- Stating a nest is available or group (3 Spino Eggs Free / Group of 4 Latens - LF. M)
- Local Chat may be used for:
- Sharing quick, relevant information such as “body down” or “merge groups?”

- To talk casually with people outside your group. Please ensure other rules are being followed while doing this (e.g, not sharing location and so on)
- Do not make threat or prey callouts in Group Chat!
- To whisper another player, type:
/w username message
- Asking and Giving Names
- Players may request names to report potential rulebreaks or to compliment others, but must follow these guidelines:
- Be respectful. Avoid passive-aggressive phrases like “last time asking” or claims such as “not giving names is a rulebreak.”
- Be specific. Use descriptors like, “Can I please get the name of the green Rex who hunted a blue Yuty with two babies?”
- Do not mention the location or describe the rule break itself.
- Ask only after the engagement has ended and moving at least 10 body-lengths away from the scene. See Engagement Rules.
- Wait at least 2 minutes between repeated name requests.
- If complimenting or acknowledging positive behaviour, you must include “NB” (not bad) in your request.
- Players must provide their name when asked—unless “NB” is included in the request.
- If a rulebreak may have occurred, do not include “NB.” Request the name normally.
- “NB” is for compliments, questions, or other positive exchanges, players do not need to respond to name requests with NB.
- When responding to a name request, type a period (.) in Global Chat or reply via Whisper. Players are encouraged to clarify with skin/color, e.g., “. (green Default skin).”
- If multiple name requests were made within the last 5 minutes, include your species, e.g., “. (Dilo).”
- If asked for your name during an engagement, wait until the engagement ends before responding.
- If you initiate a conversation via Whisper after receiving someone’s name, do not immediately shut down the conversation. Avoid saying things like “Please don’t whisper me” in your first message. Allow room for clarification or follow-up unless the conversation turns toxic.
- Grouping
- A dinosaur cannot join a group that already includes a species it wouldn’t normally group with.

- Only sub/adult apex creatures may initiate engagements with Titan creatures.
- Titans are considered the same as sub/adult apex creatures when at adolescent stage.
- Engagement Participation
- Unengaged parties must move 10 body-lengths away from active engagements using the largest engaged creature as reference.
- If you’re looking to third-party or scavenge, you may stay within 10 body-lengths but must stay out of line of sight until you engage.
- For Titan-sized engagements, stay 5 Titan body-lengths away.
- Titans always use their own body-lengths as reference.
- Failing to move away makes your group part of the engagement and could result in a rules violation.
- Unengaged players may not use buff calls to support their team during or before an engagement.
- Using a buff or debuff before a engagement starts the engagement.
- Using a buff or debuff call makes you part of the engagement.
- You have one minute to join an engagement after it starts.
- This means using a 3 call, buff/debuff call, or bite within 5 body lengths of the engagement.
- Hunting
- A hunt begins when an offensive or defensive ability is used within one body-length of another party.
- Hunts between carnivore groups are considered mutual—both parties are hunting each other.

- Carnivores may eat same-species bodies regardless of profile.
- Challenges
- Challenges may be issued for food, territory, mating rights, or other reasons tied to your profile.
- Herbivores may challenge carnivores for territory, unless the carnivores are near a body.
- Carnivores may challenge each other over food or territory, and then wait at least 20 minutes to challenge for the other option.
- A challenge starts with a full threat call followed by a mock attack within 5 seconds.
- The mock attack must occur outside of one body-length.
- Anyone watching for more than 10 seconds can’t claim the body if one drops.
- In disliked biomes, you must be at least 30% hunger (desperate hunger).
- The other party must respond within 5 seconds by accepting, forfeiting, or posturing.
- A challenge is accepted by returning the threat call, mock attacking, or starting combat.

- Challenge Limitations
- You must be able to actively defend what’s at stake.
- No terrain camping during challenges.
- During food challenges, stay within line of sight of the resource.
- Only sub-adults or older may initiate territory challenges.

- If they return during their challenge timer, they may be killed on sight, even during another engagement.
- Escorting
- Winners must escort losing parties out of the territory respectfully.

- You may use 3-calls and mock attacks to guide them.
- If they stop, threaten, or taunt, you may land 1–2 hits to push them out.
- If they continue provoking, you may retaliate.
- If the losing party returns before their timer is up, they can be killed without warning.
- Ending an Engagement
- Engagements end when a body drops or someone forfeits.
- In carnivore hunts, both parties must forfeit for the fight to end.
- To forfeit a challenge, use a friendly call or fear call.
- Forfeits count whether they’re accidental or not.
- Forfeiting conditions (apply to the whole party unless otherwise noted):
- Hunted party escapes line of sight for 2 minutes.
- Sleeping during combat.
- Using a friendly call or fear call.
- Terrain camping during a challenge (rulebreak).
- If your group forfeits but one member is still being attacked, you may return to defend them if you haven’t left 10 body-lengths.
- A hunt continues even if:
- A creature turns inactive during the fight.
- The prey grows a stage mid-fight.
- Someone exceeds group limits mid-engagement.
- Carnivores are not safe after forfeiting unless untouched for 30 seconds. If they stay within 10 body-lengths, they may still be attacked.
- No victory calling or spitting after fights.
- Wait 5 seconds before broadcasting to call unengaged groupmates only.
- Herbivores can briefly protect fallen herd members for 30 seconds.
- They may attack carnivores within two body-lengths of the body.
- They must leave if outnumbered, or after 30 seconds.
- Player Bodies
- Bodies belong to the party that killed them.
- If killed by friendly fire, the other party gets the body or is unclaimed.
- In food challenges, herbivore winners claims both. (both territory and food source)
- If the body is unreachable or inedible, you don’t have to claim it.
- You can only claim Titan bodies if you killed it or challenged for it.
- You can unclaim it if full, and must wait 5 minuets before reclaiming (cannot be within 10 lengths of body, nor defend it)
- Anyone can eat from an unclaimed Titan body.
- Claimed bodies grant protection from being hunted or attacked.
- Spawn corpses/critters do not give protection.
- Unclaimed bodies nearby must be claimed/eaten first before hunting starts.
- You must wait 1 Minute after a body despawns before attacking a group.
- Stay within 5 body-lengths of your body for it to be claimed.
- At least one member must stay with the body at all times, otherwise your free to leave it to fill up nests or get water.
- If you are a solo player, you can leave the body to fill up your nest or drink water, however at the risk other players will find and claim the body while you leave it.
- If a body is challenged for, only the creatures within 5 body lengths can defend.
- Only owners may eat from their body, unless scavenging is permitted.
- Hatchling/juvenile carnivores may scavenge.
- Medium and above Flyers must land and make contact to scavenge.

- Engagement Timers
- After a hunt, a 15-minute cooldown applies to all parties before hunting the same species again.
- Applies to both sides in carnivore vs. carnivore hunts.
- After a challenge, a 15-minute timer applies before you can challenge the same party again.
- If the challenge was between groupmates, it’s a 5-minute cooldown.
- After leaving a mob, you get a 15-minute mob and hunt timer.
- Timers apply group-wide, and you inherit your new group’s timers when you join.
- Login Timers & Server Restarts
- You get a 2-minute login timer where you may not initiate engagements but can defend or respond to challenges.
- You may not join ongoing engagements that started before your login.
- Logging out during an engagement or while being chased/followed is not allowed.
- Engagements are not allowed within 3 minutes before or after a server restart.
- All fights must stop immediately when a restart notice pops up.
- You may always defend yourself.
- If you are being attacked, you can always act in self-defense—even if it exceeds engagement limits.
- Do not abuse this by intentionally placing yourself in harm’s way to bypass rules.
- Consider whether your character would realistically remain in the fight if the threat stops.
- Entering another creature’s personal space (within 2 body-lengths) allows for threats or attacks without warning.
- Once the intruding player exits that space, they may not be pursued or attacked further unless repeated (3+) attempts.
- If offspring are present, personal space increases to 5 body-lengths.
- Carnivores following another party for 30+ seconds may be threatened or attacked.
- Always use good judgment. Do not aggress carnivores just passing by.
- Use threat displays first—attacks should follow only if ignored.
- Realistic Combat
- Carnivores may not use tail attacks offensively (e.g., spinning to hit with tail), but can use them defensively.
- Herbivores may use tail attacks offensively or defensively.
- Players may not sleep during an engagement. Sitting down is fine.
- Players may not eat or drink during an active hunt—this applies to both herbivores and carnivores.
- Eating during food challenges is allowed at your own risk.
- Body Denial
- Denying a body by making it inaccessible in a realistic scenario is not allowed. Examples include but are not limited to:
- Jumping to unreachable spots to die.
- Dying on cliffs so the body falls into water/inaccessible terrain.
- Drowning yourself when hunted by land/aerial-only predators.
- Killing someone in the water unless you are semi-aquatic/aquatic.
- Dying inside berry bushes or player nests.
- Mixpacking
- The following behaviours are considered mixpacking unless written in profile:

- Acting as a lookout/sentry for another species.
- Being overly tolerant or friendly with different species.
- Only players of the same species in the same in-game group may defend or assist each other during combat.

- Meat-shields must still try to move away from combat (see Engagement Rule 3).
- Meat-shields may defend their personal space, but must be hostile to all engaged parties in it.
- Species with a stated mutualistic/tolerant relationship in profile may not hunt each other’s sub-adults or adults unless:
- All hunters are desperately hungry, or
- The prey is heavily wounded.
- Mobbing
- Mobbing occurs when multiple ungrouped parties of the same species coordinate a hunt.
- One individual must broadcast to initiate. Others must broadcast to join.

- All mobbers must meet engagement requirements before joining.
- New individuals can join a mob unless limited by Engagement Guidelines.
- Mobs follow all combat rules unless otherwise noted in profile.
- Players who leave a mob may not rejoin.

- All may defend the body as a group.
- A party may challenge the rest for exclusive rights to the body.
- After body despawns, must give all creatures 2 Minutes to walk away. You cannot stalk each other.
- Third Party
- You may third party under the following conditions:
- Herbivores vs. Herbivores (carnivores can third party).
- Adolescents or below are 10 body lengths away from any adults.
- Semi-aquatic/aquatic carnivores may hunt any engaged creature within 2 body-lengths of water or in water, and must be hostile to all parties.
- You may not third party your own species’ engagement unless cannibalism is supported by your profile.
- Only one third party may join an active engagement, capping the total to three parties.
- Courtship
- Courtship must be roleplayed in your creature’s preferred biome and during your active hours.
- Territorial species must court within their claimed territory.
- You may only accept a mate after completing the courtship phase outlined in your profile.
- Incest is prohibited. Do not knowingly court relatives.
- If your grouping does not permit it, do not group with your mate in-game.
- Exchange names through local chat and communicate using whispers.
- Courtship-related infanticide must follow these conditions:
- Must be committed during active hours and not in a disliked biome.
- Only allowed if you are eligible to court and may only be committed against the offspring of unrelated individuals.
- May only be attempted once every 5 minutes per target.
- Cannot be done while fleeing predators or when a group member is being hunted in line of sight.
- To reset a female's nesting timer, all offspring must have logged out or died in her care, and at least one must have died by infanticide.
- Nesting
- Nesting is only allowed between sub-adult or adult members of the opposite gender, unless using a shop perk.
- Both parties must be in close proximity and have courted to nest.
- Players must be off nesting timer, and previous offspring must be sub-adult, dead, or no longer in care.
- Nesting timers begin once a post is made, regardless of whether eggs are claimed.
- Timers apply to the species, not the individual character.
- Gender-specific timers do not transfer between male and female characters.
- If all have died in below sub-adult, your nesting timer is reset.
- Nests must be placed in realistic, hidden, or protected locations.
- Players must nest within their preferred biome.
- Territorial species must nest within their established territory.
- Posting Your Nest
- All nests must be posted in the designated nesting channel.
- Do not delete your nesting post.
- Posts expire after 25 minutes; players must be invited to the nest before this.
- In multi-father nests, do not use the Gender tag. All fathers must be pinged and react to the post.
- Keep all nest images and descriptions appropriate.
- You may include reasonable guidelines in your nest post such as:
- No questing.
- Minimal chat use.
- Offspring should resemble parents.
- No paused growth.
- Offspring & Childrearing
- Do not take an egg slot unless you are in-server and ready to be teleported.
- PotBot will shrink players upon teleport. If you're an adult, we will not restore growth.
- By joining a nest, you accept any rules listed in the nesting post. Failure to follow them may result in abandonment.
- Nests are first come, first serve. Hatchlings may be removed only under the following conditions:
- A posting error occurred.
- The player is trying to join multiple nests.
- The player is not in the server, or not ready within 5 minutes.

- Failing to follow realistic behaviour or profile expectations.
- Ignoring nesting post rules.
- Being ill, lagging behind, or failing to respond to body language.
- Any reason listed in the parent’s profile.

- Players may use the Alderon nesting feature for decor, but nests must be placed in their preferred biome.
- The food and water donation mechanic may be used to care for offspring.
- Nests may be destroyed if:
- There is no adult nearby and the area is needed for another player’s nest.
- Hatchlings must be threatened away or killed before the nest is destroyed.
- The nest is in your territorial claim. Territorial species may destroy any nests there, even if not nesting themselves.
- You cannot destroy nests in disliked or neutral biomes.
